Rod joined Power to Change in June 2013 and has led the organization since June 2015.
Rod received his designation as a Chartered Accountant in 1979 and was elected as a fellow by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia in 2009. Prior to joining Power to Change, Rod spent 14 years as a senior executive with the Jim Pattison Group, the second largest private company in Canada. Prior to that, he was a senior partner in a major international accounting firm.
Within the church, Rod has served in a variety of positions from 1977 to 2012, including as chairman of the board, treasurer, and worship leader at several non-denominational churches in the Fraser Valley. He is a former director of the Surrey Metro Savings Credit Union and also served as a publicly elected director and treasurer of the Langley Memorial Hospital. He is a former vice-chair of the board of Pacific Academy, a private Christian school in Surrey, BC. Rod is a former governor of the Canadian Tax Foundation and also served as the Vice-President for Canadian Affairs and Chair of the Canadian Income Tax Committee for the Tax Executives Institute in Washington, DC.
Rod is 61 years old and with Cindy, his wife of 40 years, have four children and eight grandchildren.
